Why the same compound is dosed so differently

Why the same compound shows up at wildly different doses across studies and sources - and why that is a warning, not a menu.
Look up almost any research peptide and you will find a bewildering range of doses. The same compound might appear at one figure in an animal study, another in a small human trial, and something else again on a forum. Understanding why tells you a great deal about how much to trust any single number.
Legitimate reasons doses differ
- Species: an effective amount in a mouse does not scale one-to-one to a human.
- Goal: the amount studied for one outcome may differ from another.
- Route and formulation: how a compound is delivered changes how much is needed.
- Study design: early dose-finding studies deliberately test a range.
The warning underneath
The spread of doses is a sign that the science is unsettled, not that you get to pick from a menu. Where numbers vary this much, it usually means no one has established a reliably safe and effective dose in humans for the use in question. That uncertainty is itself the finding. Treating a forum figure as if it were a settled prescription is exactly the mistake this classroom exists to prevent.
Educational, and deliberately so: this lesson explains why dosing is uncertain rather than supplying doses. Any real-world decision is for a qualified professional.
