Sauna after exercise: adaptation vs extra fatigue

Post-exercise sauna adds another stressor; whether it helps depends on the goal, total load and ability to replace fluid.
Small studies examine endurance adaptations and recovery, but dehydration and low blood pressure can worsen after hard exercise.
- Cool down first.
- Do not combine with alcohol.
- Replace fluid according to loss and context.
- Leave for dizziness, nausea, confusion or unusual weakness.
